Summertime in Michigan consists of hot, humid days that can easily melt off a full face of makeup. For that reason, I like to stick to a minimalist makeup routine that consists of a BB Cream, cream blush, waterproof mascara and, of course, sunscreen. Being the seasonal makeup minimalist that I am, I jumped at the chance to try Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare’s Instant Radiance Sun Defense. Coverage, SPF 40 and a nice subtle glow all in one product? Sold. You’ll find me wearing this product almost everyday this summer.
Since this product is technically a sunscreen, I decided to compare it to my other sunscreens that I use throughout the year. The largest difference is that there is absolutely no white residue. None. Not one ounce. It’s also quite moisturizing and provides my skin with a very healthy glow that lasts until it’s time to reapply (it is a sunscreen after all). The instructions recommend reapplying the product every six hours so I try to stick to that as best I can. That may seem like a pain, but it’s honestly no different than reapplying regular sunscreen.
From what I’ve researched and witnessed, this product will work for all skin types. If you are someone who tends to be a bit on the oily side, I would still set this with a powder or even setting spray such as Urban Decay’s DeSlick. Unfortunately, this product only comes in two shades so it won’t work for all skin tones. Hopefully they launch a more extensive color range in the near future because I really do consider this a must-have product. This is the perfect addition to my summer make up routine☀️☀️
