Living in Michigan, my skin goes through a lot during the seasons. From dealing with tan lines in the summer to scales in the winter, it seemed like my skincare regimen was getting a bit extreme. But thankfully, I’ve managed to narrow down my daily routine without leaving my shower. Here are my four must-have products for healthy, glowing skin;
Frank Body Coffee Scrub
This is Frank, and he will change your life… or at least your skin. Not only does this scrub exfoliate your skin, but it also helps with cellulite, it’s full of antioxidants and the coffee it’s made from has the same pH levels as your skin so it won’t leave you feeling dry or oily.
To use, I take a small handful and work all over my body in small circular motions. Then, I let it sit there for a few minutes before I rinse it off so that my skin can soak up all those antioxidants.
The only downside of this product is that it is MESSY. Be prepared to need to run your shower head around the shower a time or two to make sure you’ve gotten all the little coffee grounds that have tried to make the great escape.
With that being said, I love this product. The texture of my skin is so smooth and looks much healthier than when I was using salt scrubs. Coffee is no longer just a kitchen product.
I’ve been using this product religiously for the past three years and I’m still just as obsessed with it today as I was when I first started using this shower oil. The product has almond oil in it, which has Omega 6 fatty acids and helps hydrate your skin.
To use, I place about a quarter size amount in my hand and start cleansing my skin. Once the oil comes into contact with water, it actually turns into a milk and smells quite decadent. I especially love this in the winter because instead of leaving my skin feeling dry and tight light other cleaners, this leaves my skin soft and smooth.
I’m not going to lie, I hated this product when I first incorporated it into my shower routine. I’m about as fair as it gets (my foundation shades are all named ‘alabastor’ ‘blanc’ ‘porcelain’ etc). So I figured this would be an easy way for me to get a little color. I was disappointed when I didn’t step out of my shower looking like a bronzed goddess after one use. I kept using it and saw a little hint of color, but the tan was still very subtle compared to when I use St. Tropez Classic Bronzing Mousse.
I decided to give it another go, going into it with more reasonable expectations and I began to fall in love. It makes you look like you’ve just spent the past two hours in the sun. You aren’t really tan, but you have this sunkissed glow that I find really pretty. It’s the perfect pick-me-up for the winter blues and goes great with a sundress and nude wedge during the summer.
To use, I slather this all over my body as if it were a lotion and hang out for 3 minutes to let the tan develop. This is the perfect time to also do a hair mask and kill two birds with one stone (I recommend the Don’t Despair, Repair! mask from Briogio). Once my three minutes are up, I rinse off and am ready for my final, in-shower step for glowing skin.
Y’all, I was hooked after one use. It’s SO moisturizing. It’s so easy and to use. It’s so convenient. I could go on, and on… and on.
Literally all you do is rub this in on your wet skin, step out of the shower and pat yourself dry. That’s it. You’re moisturized for the day. The whole day. I was convinced I would have to put more lotion on an hour after I finished my shower, but it kept my skin so hydrated all day. And, Jergens recently came out with an in shower self tanning lotion. I’ll be trying that soon and maybe this will become a two-in-one step.
I hope these product help y’all as much as they’ve helped me! I’d love to hear your feed back and thoughts so be sure to leave me a comment below 🙂
